Article named most popular of 2023

Our paper on host-guest displacement crystallization was named by ChemComm as one of their most popular articles of 2023!

Congrats Danyon!

Congrats to group alumn Danyon Fischbach ‘19, who just successfully defended his PhD in chemistry (University of Maryland)!

NSF MRI funded

Our NSF MRI, Acquisition of a Single-Crystal X-ray Diffractometer to Support Primarily Undergraduate Research in the Greater Susquehanna Valley, has been funded! This grant, in collaboration with Bill Dougherty, will support a new single crystal diffractometer, to be installed at Susquehanna in summer 2024. Excited for students to get access to the instrument.

New article published

Our manuscript on crystal growth via guest displacement from host–guest complexes was just accepted in ChemComm. This work is a collaboration with the Arslan group and developed from our NSF-funded work. Congrats to Mikayla, Caylee, Rosemarie, and Brody all for their first publication!

Graduation News

Congrats to both Ellie and Elena on graduation this weekend. Both Ellie (Drexel) and Elena (Georgetown) are headed to their PhD studies this fall, we wish them the best!

Bucknell article on our VR work

The recent Bucknell Magazine has published an article on VR work on campus which highlights our use for visualization of complex molecular architectures (like COFs). Link here.

Graduation News

Congrats to our groups most recent graduate, Angela!

Review article published

Our review on 2D polymerization has now been published in ChemRev. This review has developed in different forms over the years, excited for it to now be shared. Congrats to Austin to shepherding this herculean effort.

Graduation News

Congrats to our group members Brody and Charlie on graduation this year! Charlie is headed into industry and Brody will be starting his PhD studies in the fall (Temple),

Graduation News

In this challenging time, it’s important to remember to celebrate the happy aspects. Our group has 5(!) seniors graduating this year, we look forward to celebrating with them in the future.

Congrats Fallon, Amarylls, Grace, Zack, and Ben!

NSF grant funded

Our NSF grant, Polycationic Cage for Jacketed Covalent Organic Frameworks, has been funded! This work is a strong collaboration with the Arslan group, combining our expertises to explore the interface between host-guest chemistry and COF growth.

Graduation News

Congrats to Danyon on graduation. He will be starting his PhD studies this fall at the University of Maryland. Best of luck!

Article Published

Our research group’s first fully independent publication is now out in ChemComm. This work explores the growth mechanisms of 3D COFs to control the structure of the final COF material. Congrats Danyon, Fallon, Grace, and Charlie all for their first publication!

Welcome Danyon, Fallon, and Ben!

Three students, Danyon Fischbach, Fallon Goldberg, and Ben Siciliano, have joined the lab to begin research this spring and continue through the summer. Welcome!

Lab Setup Begins

Lab organization and setup begins at Bucknell University!
